Maybelle Murphy, BScPT
Maybelle received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Alberta in 1991. She has worked in both public and private healthcare settings. She has experience with sports therapy and orthopedics; however, she is passionate about providing comprehensive care for cancer patients. She is a certified lymphedema therapist and specializes in breast cancer care. Her work includes preoperative education and postoperative treatment for lymphedema, cording, seromas, hematomas, radiation fibrosis, chemotherapy related concerns and breast cancer reconstruction. She has established a multidisciplinary rehabilitation program at Nomad Therapies that assists cancer patients in regaining mobility, function and strength for their return to their activities, family life and workplace. This program includes a talented multidisciplinary team including kinesiology, occupational therapy, massage, registered dietician, counselling and cognitive assessment and training with treatment available on site. The goal is to provide cancer patients with a safe and supportive environment for a successful recovery.
Maybelle enjoys travelling, outdoor activities and spending time with family and friends.
